What do we truly hunger for? Beyond physical needs, our souls long for spiritual
nourishment, sometimes without even realizing it. Jesus understood this deep hunger
and gave us the greatest gift: the Holy Eucharist, His own Body and Blood, for the sake
of the world’s life.
“I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live
forever.” These words remind us that Jesus doesn’t just satisfy our physical hunger; He
transforms us, nourishing us for eternal life and calling us to do the same for others.
When Jesus multiplied the loaves and fish, there were leftovers—twelve baskets full.
This isn’t just about abundance; it’s about us, our role in the world today. We are the
leftovers, the ones called to share what we have received. Many are spiritually starving,
unaware of their deep hunger for God. As those who have received the Eucharist, we
are to become nourishment for others through acts of love, service, and self-giving.
Jesus’ command is clear: Feed others. Be His presence in the world. Just as He gave
Himself for us, we must give of ourselves for the life of the world.
Brothers and sisters, as a community on a spiritual journey together, let us be
transformed by the Eucharist, so that we may become Christ’s hands, His heart, and His
love to those in need. The world is hungry, will we share the Bread of Life?
