FEAST OF SAINTS PETER AND PAUL: BE VISIBLE. BE FAITHFUL. BE CHURCH.

Blurbs by Rev Fr. Pete Literal

Today, we celebrate Saints Peter and Paul, two giants of our faith who were once
deeply flawed men. Peter denied Christ. Paul persecuted Christians. And yet, God
chose them to become the cornerstones of the Church. Why? Because God often calls
the unlikely to do the extraordinary.
This reminds us that no matter our past or imperfections, we too are called to stand up,
speak out, and be visible witnesses of Christ.
Now is one of those moments.
As our parish prepares for a pastoral transition, continues its work of pastoral care, and
seeks new hands for its mission, the Church looks to you. Not just to welcome, but to
invite. Not to step back, but to step up.
Unity and Mission are the heartbeats of our Catholic faith. And we live them by showing
up, serving others, and letting our lives say, “I belong to Christ.” We’ve seen this in our
Spring Fling, in bereavement ministry, in food drives, religious education, and even in
something as simple yet powerful as attending Mass. These are not small things. They
are living witnesses. We cannot be anonymous Christians. Like Peter and Paul, we
must be identifiable, not perfect, but willing to partner in Jesus’ mission. Willing to be
seen. Willing to serve. Willing to say yes when Christ calls.
Let us be visible. Let us be faithful. Let us be the Church, united in partnership in
mission, and alive in Christ with our new pastor.

BE WITNESSES, BE SEEN, AND BE IDENTIFIED.

Brothers and sisters, now more than ever, the Church needs visible, committed
Christians, disciples who are not afraid to be seen, to step forward, and to serve when
the call comes.
As we prepare to welcome Rev. Jason, our new pastor, and as pastoral care continues
to be lived out in our community, this is a moment for us to stand up and say, “Here I
am, Lord.”
Our mission doesn’t pause or end with transition, but deepens. And the mission needs
you. When new hands are required for the work, when fresh faces are called to bring
comfort, leadership, or presence, it’s our opportunity to let our faith shine. Christ calls us
not to step back or hide, but to be salt and light —visible signs of His love and mercy.
Let us be ready. Let us be bold. Let us be joyful witnesses, prepared to build, to
welcome, and to carry the mission forward together with our new pastor.
