28th Sunday in Ordinary Time –Year C “Your FAITH has saved you.”(Luke 17:19)

Blurbs by Rev. Fr. Pete Literal

In today’s Gospel, Jesus heals ten lepers—people who had been completely cut off from family, community, and worship. By healing them, He gives them back not only their health, but their dignity and place in society.

Yet only one returns to give thanks—and he is a Samaritan, an outsider. Jesus reminds us that gratitude is the heart of faith. The word “Eucharist” itself means thanksgiving. Every time we come to Mass, we come—like that one grateful leper—to thank the Lord for His mercy, His healing, and His saving love.

Christ’s healing power is still alive in His Church, especially through the Anointing of the Sick and the Eucharist. These sacraments bring strength, peace, and new life to those who seek Him with faith.

Let us be people of gratitude, returning each week to the Lord who restores and renews us—always ready to say, “Thank you, Lord.”
