7TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME: JESUS CHALLENGES US TO GO ABOVE AND BEYOND.

Blurbs by Fr. Pete Literal

The gift of grace sets Christianity apart. It is God’s own life working within us. Grace calls us to love, not as the world loves, but with kindness, mercy, and forgiveness, even towards those who are ungrateful or selfish. God extends love to the just and unjust, and we are invited to do the same.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus challenges us to go beyond fairness: “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?” We are called to love without limits, trusting in the power of God’s love. When we love like Jesus, we become instruments of His grace, transforming lives in ways we never imagined. Mother Teresa reminds us: “People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered. Love them anyway.”

I asked you to consider how God’s generosity inspires your giving prayerfully. God loves the cheerful giver.  Consider the many opportunities presented to you to respond to the needs of the poor and the marginalized. Every gift you offer, large or small, is an act of generosity and compassion.   When offered with love, no gift is too small. Let us support the spiritual and corporal works of mercy and strengthen the future of our Church.

May we love with the mercy, forgiveness, and compassion of God.
