In today’s Gospel, Jesus proclaims the Beatitudes—a vision of life that challenges the world’s values. While society often measures success by power, wealth, and control, Jesus points us toward humility, mercy, trust in God, and love for others.
True happiness, Jesus teaches, is found not in self-sufficiency but in dependence on God. The Beatitudes invite us to examine our attitudes and ask whether our lives reflect mercy, peacemaking, justice, and compassion.
These are not impossible ideals. They are invitations to become who God created us to be. As we strive to live the Beatitudes, may our hearts be shaped by Christ, and may our lives become a quiet but powerful witness to the Kingdom of God in our midst.
