Blurbs by Rev. Fr. Pete Literal
In today’s Gospel, Jesus begins His public ministry by calling ordinary people—fishermen—to follow Him and become “fishers of men.” They were not chosen for their status or perfection, but because Jesus saw what they could become.
That same call is spoken to each of us through our baptism. Jesus meets us where we are and invites us into His mission of bringing light, hope, and healing to the world.
As a community of Catholic Filipinos, we are called to renew our faith, rekindle our missionary spirit, and commit ourselves to sharing the Gospel together. We are sent to this country to share the faith God has blessed us with. No one is excluded. Everyone has a role.
May the Word of God inspire us to listen, respond generously, and take our partnership in Christ’s mission seriously—so that the Kingdom of God may be made visible among Filipino families and friends, here and now through us.
