Blurbs by Rev.Fr. Pete Literal
Now that the rush of Christmas has quieted, we can see clearly the heart of what we celebrate: God is truly Emmanuel—God with us. In today’s Gospel, the Holy Family faces danger, displacement, and uncertainty. Yet through Joseph’s trust and God’s protection, Christ’s mission is preserved.
The Incarnation is the center of our Catholic faith. God has entered our world—not as a distant helper, but fully sharing our human struggles. He walks with us in every joy and sorrow, bringing light into darkness and hope into fear. With Jesus, God has called us to partake in His mission our world now.
This is God’s Christmas gift to us: His very presence. His presence is a revelation of salvation – the great mission of God for the transformation of the world to be God’s world.
What gift will we offer Him in return? May we give Him our trust, our willingness to follow His guidance, and hearts that carry His mission of bringing hope into the world. May the Filipino Council continue to be a beacon of unity, collaboration, and harmony for the transformation of all Phil-A organizations into becoming powerful mission partners of Jesus in our world now.
THIS IS OUR GIFT TO HIM.
